WHERE IS THE DRAKE INN?

The Drake Inn is located on Isabela Island in front of a white sandy beach that stretches for three miles. The front of the hotel boasts a stunning view of Isabela Bay while the back of the hotel offers views of the lagoons, wetlands, and mangroves found in the Galapagos National Park.

FLYING TO GALAPAGOS

Flights to Galapagos:

There are two (2) airlines that offer flights to Galapagos.

Departing from: Quito (UIO) or Guayaquil (GYE)

Arriving to: Baltra, Galapagos (GPS)

Each airlines offers morning and mid-morning flights.

••Please Note•• If you intend to arrive to Isabela Island same day by boat - you must take the early morning flight in order to arrive at Baltra by 11:30am. Once you have arrived at Baltra, you will need to take transportation to Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz. Please allow approximately two (2) hour for this commute.

FROM BALTRA TO ISABELA:

There are two (2) options to travel from Baltra to Isabela: Flight or Boat

1.) FLIGHT (Approx. 30 mins.) There are two (2) airlines that offer flights from Baltra to Isabela Island:

2.) BOAT (Approx. 2 hours - depending on weather and ocean conditions)

Instructions to Travel by Boat
Transportation from Baltra Airport to Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz:

Step 1 - BUS (10 - 15 minutes) Upon arrival at Baltra Airport (GPS) take a bus from the airport terminal to the channel of Itabaca in Baltra.

Step 2 - BARGE (5 minutes) Take the barge across the channel to Santa Cruz Island.

Step 3 - BUS or TAXI Once you have arrived on Santa Cruz Island you will need to take transportation to Puerto Ayora (located on the other side of the island.) You have two options here: Bus or Taxi.

BUS (Approx. 1 hour) Bus will take you to the Puerto Ayora. From there you will need to take a taxi to the dock.

TAXI (Approx 40 mins) Most taxis are double cabin pick-up trucks that can accommodate 4 passengers with luggage. The taxi will take you directly to the dock. This option is recommended for travelers planning to travel to Isabela by boat on the same day.

Traveling from Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz to Isabela Island:

There are several boat companies located in Puerto Ayora that provide ferry service between Puerto Ayora and Puerto Villamil. Most boats leave Puerto Ayora at 3pm daily. We recommend booking in advance.

Arriving to Isabela Island:

Upon arrival to Isabela Island there will be several taxi’s standing by at the dock.
Just tell your driver that you are headed to the Drake Inn or Casa Cuvi.
It is a short drive (approx 5 mins) or walk (25 mins) to the hotel where you can relax after a day of travel.
